    Holley model 4160/list3367 Fuel Leak

I have the Holley 4160/list 3367 installed on my 327ci/300hp SB, 1966 Coupe. This car is new to me, less than a month... Car runs great. Checking installation parts, etc with my long time NCRS buddy and we got a suprise when the Air Filter was lifted to check carb numbers. The underside of the filter lid was wet with fuel and the secondary was leaking some fuel. After a bit, the fuel leak subsided. The front of the car was on a slight downgrade. Sometimes, the carb seems to be "Loaded Up" when pulling out from an extended light. Again, the engine runs strong and smooth..... Just this fuel thing??? Any ideas? PS. running side exhaust

    Daniel,

Trying to locate the leak on a holley can be difficult. My first thoughts are float levels and that may explain why the car wants to load up when idling. If the floats are externally adjustable, the level with engine idling should be at the bottom of the side inspection plug but not running out the plug. If this checks out, the problem could be with a gasket or gasket surface not flat thus not sealing.

How fuel ended up on the underside of the air cleaner is something I would be concerned with. The o-rings in the balance tube could be leaking but you need to isolate this problem as there is a potential fire hazard.

Not being familiar with too many Holley"s, does this one have a external transfer tube from the primary to the secondary? My first and only (last) experience was with a 4165 spread bore which had such a tube and it was always working it's way out. It used "O" rings on the tube.

      Just a thought.
