Let's Revisit Those French Locks with Shielding?

Got my French locks today (CC) and tried to mount them on my '67 327/300hp engine with radio shielding. None of them fit on the screws with the shielding in place. Am I suppose to bend the arch away from the shielding so they will fit, or what? Thanks.

    Kirk,

If you pull/bend the bottom of the strap slightly outboard, away from the engine, the shield will fit.
That's exactly how they were bent at the St Louis plant for cars equipped with radios.
