Re: This is a long shot 65 coupe in Pa
Hi Keith,
Your description brought back memories of Lincoln, and I think, of that car.
Now, a question, please, I looked at your profile, your age, and your membership number. If I do the math it seems like you joined the NCRS when you were about 3 years old. You must have the record for the youngest member!!!!

Keith - your information is dead on. I grew up between the Speedway and Rt30 (Parents still live there). My Dad's been in the Corvette business for 30 years and also used to work on the fire crew at the track every Saturday. He remembers the 65 and said he even has a few pics of it, but doesn't remember what ever happend to it. He also has a lot of pics of the white 64 conv. w/ red int. that Hilly used at the track before the 65.
Hilly's 16 year old son - Larry used to beat the snot out of that 65 and went trough (2) engines in the first year! I'm sure the car is somewhere today with it's "numbers matching" engine in it though. Funny how so many of these cars are more original today than when they were new! I own Larry's old 67 goodwood green small block conv - close to 15 years now. Best car I ever bought.- Top

Re: This is a long shot 65 coupe in Pa
I see many owners and enthusiasts in PA. I grew up in Johnstown never realizing what was around me. One of the guys I went to school with his father had a 66 that he took me for rides in. One of my cousins had a mid year FI, he almost did not survive that car, and another cousin that has his 66, he blew the motor in it in the early 70's. The car is still in his garage, he will not part with it. I still want it, it is my favorite year. Maybe someday.
