    53-55 Condenser Trivia

Had many questions about the right Condensers used for each year 53 or 55 . Here are the differences,

1 upper left pic. Are the ones used for 53 to 54 side shielding ONLY

2 Bottom pic used with the 53 to 55 Voltage regulator ONLY

3 Right pic. Used for 55 coil shielding ONLY

Notice each is different in design and (bracket location.)
But see them being sold on e-bay as tho they are all the same for each year and location .
Dont belieave thier judged and should be for correct design.

Now and then I post Trivia stuff on 53-55 and wonder if I should be doing it because it may go against the "JM" but few 53-55 owners post here anyway.I've deleted many pic in the past because of this. Hope people don't get to upset with me?

So Roy, what do you know about the original markings on these?

I see repo decals are being sold. One original I found had a decal on it years before the decals were being reproduced. This leads me to believe some did come with decals. Noland's book shows a condenser with a stamped labeling. I got one from John Rohner many years ago that appears NOS and it has no decal or lable on it. No markings at all. So what do we make of this?

They all had the water stickers on them that I know about, how are the repro's done? Mary is good at cleaning or painting items that may be the reason it was missing. I don't add the sticker on for the 55 coil condenser, you need to buy the rpro. The condensers you see for sale are mostly the ones for the VR, rarely see the 54 shielding one and never the 55 coil one.
All are different in design but the JM don't mention the difference or the sticker so how cares.

By your photos I have the correct one for the shielding and two correct ones for the VR. Glad you explained it because I was concerned the odd one was incorrect.
