      Congratulations, Joe. I figured 50-50 someone would get it. The lyrics from "Celts". Translation from Gaelic:

      Life of lives,
      Beginning to the end.
      We are alive
      Forever.

        Duke;

        Can you hum me a few bars. I know I have the CD, but haven't played it for awhile cause the player in my Vette is on the fritz. That FM input sucks.

          I'm disappointed. I thought for sure we'd get a seven paragraph report on the LT1 cam and why everyone should have one.

          Thanks for the translation. While you were in skol learning all that important stuff, I was out having fun and learning about cars and girls.

          Never did get the girls figured out though after all these years.

            Sacrilege! Basphemy! A CD player in a vintage Corvette sticks out like a sore thumb, but I challenge anyone to "detect" a LT-1 cam in place of a Duntov. They both have about the same effective overlap and pull the same manifold vacuum at a given idle speed.

            Besides, the best sounds in a vintage Corvette are the sounds of the engine and car. Why contaminate it with a CD player?

                Hi Stu,

                Golly. I have an 8-track in mine!
                Still have to use a matchbook to hold the tapes in place.
                Plays great out the rear speaker with reverb.

                  Duke;

                  Yes! It's terrible! But it is all hidden and mounted with velcro. Even my AM/FM stereo radio plugs into the master stock connector using individual faston lugs - no wire splices of any kind. That was a decision I made many years ago - No compromise on my sounds or my electronic ignition. Every thing else is original or NOS (oh well, maybe not the carb, but I have the good excuse that the original was stolen).

                  Mike;

                      Ya know, I was just thinking about something my world history teacher told me one day after I failed yet another test. "Michael, (she always called me that when she was mad) you ARE going to need this one day so pay attention and learn this stuff!!
                      Well, it's now some 45 years later and I STILL haven't run into a situation where I was required to know King whatshisname's date of birth from some country that existed 3000 years ago.

                      And what about those conjunction and preposition things in english class? And do I know how to properly diagram a sentence? (if that's what it was called) I know I'll need that too one day soon.

                        You know, we're all starting to sound like we are tapping into our Hurricane supplies already, specially the stuff that comes in six packs, and Hanna's barely spittin on us and Ike's still days away!

                        Poor Rob - Sorry.

                          Yup, I guess we got a bit off topic. Anyway, I'm going to call Crane Cams in a little while and see if we can get Rob fixed up with a correct 097 cam. (I have a little pull there) I'll post the results.

                          Duke and I have fun terrorizing each other about that worthless LT1 cam about once a year. (actually, I think he gets a 10% cut for every one he sells) It's all in fun.

                            Here ya go Rob. Crane Cams, 1-800-461-4758 ext 4202. That should hook ya up with a gentleman named Chase Knight. He's familiar with that cam and said it can be shipped within 4 days of order.

                            Their cam number is 11-3736097.

                            Good luck with the project.

                              You can also get the Sealed Power CS-113R exact OE replacement from NAPA or any other source of Federal Mogul replacement parts, which is just about any parts store.

                              This cam (and most other OE cams) is not going anywhere. Even if it is discontinued as a catalog item, Crane can always grind it as a "custom" as long as they keep the lobe masters.

                              Duke

                              PS - napaonline.com has redone their web site (again) and the home page has a part number cross reference, so all I did was type in 3736097 and voila!
