    Re: reaching a milestone tomorrow

    Ridge,

Thanks for the offer but I'll wait till you trailer it out West and join you on your PCH ride and include you in an episode of Live Car Shows how bout that. Sorry to here about you intake that's really to bad didn't mean to come off like a jerk your description of the condition today tells " the rest of the story". Still would like to see you leave the body on and keep the paint but that's just me. Good luck with your restoration and sorry I missed that roast beef.

      Ridge,
I have had Jerry MacNeish restore valve covers, intake manifold and a carb. I think you have contacted/consulted with one of the most honorable and professional men in the automotive business. He is a top notch person and he communicates extremely well with his customers. Sounds like I like him...you betcha!!

Thanks Kevin for the follow-up. You just have strong opinions. No problem there, I do also. My wife says I'm hard-headed, but I know she's wrong.
Sounds like a deal on the PCH trip. And, anytime you're my way, towards Tulsa, the roast beef dinner offer is still good, my friend. Ridge.
Mike, you have hit the nail on the head about Jerry MadNeish. He's the best, of the best, and his word is as good as gold. It's not a fiberglass body, but does he have one sweet, historic 1968 Z/28 (Dave Strictler's former drag race car), and, it was painted in Corvette bronze.
Good carburetion is fuelish hot air . . .

            Ridge,

Thanks for the updates. I am very excited for you. But I could also easily envision the look on the faces of your wife and kids who don't quite understand the ebullience over a stinky old car that I presume cost quite a bit to drag home. I am no stranger to that same head shaking, hands-on-hips, admonishing look myself.

As to your goal of having it completed in a year...all it takes is money, the rest will fall into place with enough of it.

Best of luck and most of all have fun with the project.

Please keep up the photos and progress reports.

            Mike Bovino

And Jerry restored it to EXACTLY its original race configuration, races it regularly (runs 10.90's with the NHRA-legal 302), and won his class (E/Stock) at the 2004 U.S. Nationals. 3400# car, launches at 7000, shifts at 8400, runs a Jerico 4-speed with a 3.29:1 1st gear and a 5.57 axle.
