I am less than 3mo. NCRS member and new owner of a 66' "Rally Red" Coupe and trying to get her ready for a late Sept 08 regional meet.
After purchase of the car, the first thing I did was become a NCRS member. Next, I ordered the 1966 TIM/Judging Manual. Having studied the manual from cover to cover, I am having some difficulty with staying oriented to the correct side of the car (ie- left vs. right) when reading the manual information.
My work life has been within the aviation industry. From this background, I have been trained to get oriented to the work/repair procedure from "Aircraft Right or Left", viewed from a sitting position in the cockpit. I cannot find any such guidance in the TIM/JM. Am I missing written guidance somewhere in the manual? Or, does the Automotive industry assume "Left/Right" as viewed from sitting in the car or standing in front of the car looking front to rear?
I am very interested to hear comments. I know it is a small point, but, I think it would make the instructions of the TIM/JM easier to follow.
Happy Wheels,
Dan
