I have recently acquired a 66' Coupe which had an extensive restoration in 1997 and mostly garaged since. Most ever working component on this coupe was replaced or reworked.
Now, I am trying to get ready for its first meet and I discover that the wipers are incorrectly positioned, and the water pump does not work. The wipers work, but try to jam on each other... pass side wiper is rigged closest to winshield trim. I cleaned the water bag out before ever trying the system. I tried to prime the water supply line from the bag side and actually got a good squirt from drivers side and just visible fluid show from pass side. Then, I just pushed the water button at the wiper knob and I did not hear anything from the pump.
With the detail that this car was refurbed and based on the fact that everything else works 4.0, I am hoping this is an electrical situation. I will get back into this tomorrow, but, I sure could use an explanation of how this system works! I will need to take the wiper arms off for repositioning.... any tech tips on how to make this happen without ruining a fabulous paint job? PS. My regional meet is the last of Sept. 08... so, I must solve this quickly! I will appreciate any and all help...... I appologize for this being so wordy... but, I am trying to put the most info out there to prevent delays or being unclear. Thanks, Dan
