    Tach face replacement

I want to replace the face on a 62 tachometer. I have the tach removed from the cup but am concerned about the proper procedure to remove the tach needle without damaging it or the tach. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Rex

    Re: Tach face replacement

Rex, This seems scarier than it really is. I take two screwdrivers of equal size and place the ends under either side of the needle (at the base of course). If you're replacing the face don't worry about marring it and no precautions are necessary. All you need to do is rotate each screw driver equally and the needle will pop off. Sometimes considerable force is necessary sometimes not...but if pressure is applied equally from both sides you'll have no problem.

    Good luck!
