'68 wiper arm and door lock

    Two questions:
    1. Are the '68 windshield wiper arms unique to that year, and if not, with what years might they be interchangable?
    2. Are the push-button door lock units side specific? The AIM does not call out LH or RH but some listings I have seen on eBay do make the dinstinction. It seemed to me the rod and clip attachment could be mounted on either side, but without having these I cannot tell for certain.

Thanks in advance for any help on these two items.

The 1968 outside door lock and button assemblies WERE side-specific. The left side was GM #9716405 and the right side was GM #9716404.

The 1968 Corvette wiper arm assemblies were unique to the 1968 Corvette and were not used on other year model Corvettes or any other GM car.

I have one wiper arm I think is a 68 and the only difference I see is their is no clip to attach a washer tube because 68's did not use the tube.

        Lyle,

By saying "difference", do you mean between '68 and other early C3's? And is the one you have up for adoption?

If we are lucky maybe someone will know if 68 wiper arms are the same as 69-73 without the tubes. Do they mount in the same place? Joe what do you think?

I'm not sure on this one. There may be some other subtle difference between the 1968 and 69-73. I believe they mount in the same location and the transmission assemblies are the same. However, with 68, it's hard to say, for sure, on anything.

According to my AIM, the wiper arms are LH and RH specific, and since I only have one with no part number that coincides with the AIM, I cannot tell which one I have. There does not appear to be any reproduction arm available for '68 so now I am wondering if later model arms would work (for service use only of course) since the transmission seems to be common.
