    C1 Rear Crossmembers

What are the differences between the 53-62 rear crossmembers, number of holes, etc.? This is the piece the spring shackles bolt to. I am especially interested in the '57.

    Thanks!

Steve, check the archives as there was a discussion on '57 rear cross members a couple of months back with photos. Basically, there are 3 holes excluding the 2 outside and after approximately VIN 3000 was changed to 5 holes. 2 sets of double holes were added like you'd find up '58-62. However, in '57 the 2 sets of double holes did not have nut plates welded inside the rear cross member. The welded nut plates were required for the '58 bumpers. Gary....
