    71 Engine Part number PLEASE

I've been to GMPARTSDIRECT and can't seem to get below 1980. Can someone tell me the GM part number for the set of valve seals for my 71
350/270. Is it wise to replace the retainers (locks) also at this time, 40,000 miles on odometer. Thanks for all your help. Mike
P.S.-Was there ever an issue with the valve springs on this engine or is it wise to just replace them while doing the seals?

The stock, o-ring type valve seals are currently GM #10214034. If the locks show no sign of damage, you should not need to replace them. These locks are very hard pieces and usually hold up well.

There was never any problem with the small block valve springs. At your mileage, I think yours should be fine.

      Michael,

Joe gave you your answer, but for the future with GMPartsDirect you have to select restoration from the list , then your car will come up.

See attached link on your item. http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/restora...tocategory.cfm
