    What is the outside diameter of the correct 1954 chrome exhaust extension?

      You mean how far they stick out??? 53-54 different then mid 54 55's usually at bout half way where the holders clamp on . But have seen many different idea's . But a good question !Should be in the JM

          I think by asking about the outside diameter, he's actually asking about the outside diameter. Mine micrometers out at exactly 2.5 inches.

              Not yet readyto pay up for the real ones, I am trying to find replacements that look right. I tried the 2 1/2" diameter and they looked a little small. I assume the 2 1/2" measurement is on a correct/original extension?

                  Yes it is. What did you ask for in your original post? I didn't go out and take the time to mic one off a 68, believe me!
