    77 AC/Heater Console Control

    Hi Members;

    I am restoring my dash and console. I had to replace the AC/Heater control as it was busted and all the vacuum lines were off the ports.

    I have mapped out the lines and know where they go, but not where they go on the control. The 5 port wheel has numbers on it from 1 to 5.
    I have many books, but none show the control details.

    This is my first post so at least let me know how I did.

    Thanks

    I don't have a 1977 AIM, but I think I saw a vacuum diagram in the earlier AIMs. You might want to take a look there. Now as to how accurate it is -- well that is another story.

      Terry;

      That's a good idea. I will check see if I have an AIM. I know I have a 78.

      Thanks

        Those lines were in a molded conector with a screw in it on older cars than yours. I think the AIM will just show plugging in the conector with the hoses attached. I think you may need to sort them out with a vacuum sorce unless some one has this area opened up working on it the could check out where they go.

          Hint: don't look for the details in the main body of the AIM book--turn to the A/C option itself at the rear of the book. I'll bet you find a supplemental wiring diagram for the engine harness when the car is A/C equipped along with a vacuum diagram and vac truth table...

            Lyle; You are correct. My molded connector has been removed. AIM showed me the routing and what number the vacuum line connected to. I made short connector hoses to connect each vac line to the appropriate port. I wont know for sure until I can start my motor and check operation using the control. Thanks to all. Fritzo #9201
