Question for Die Cast Vette Collectors..

Ok, this may not be a technical question, but I've been hunting forever and I'm not sure what I'm looking for even exists.
Christmas season '05, we got a bazillion catalogs like everyone else does. I regularly get the Danbury Mint & Franklin Mint stuff, but my wife had pointed out to me a Corvette diecast in one of HER catalogs because it said "LT-1" on it, and I had a '70 LT-1 at the time. I remember it being a 1/24 or so die cast of a 1971 Steel Cities Gray LT-1 Convertible, and it was like $150.00 or so. I paid it little heed as I wasn't collecting die-casts at the time, had no house and 2 mortgages, and I had a '70 coupe, not a '71 convertible.
Fast forward a few years, sold the '70 and got a....'71 S.C.G. LT-1 convertible! Now, I'd kill to find that darn catalog again! Is my memory accurate, did somebody actually make a die cast '71 LT-1 convertible, or am I just all fogged up from exhaust fumes? I've searched and searched and come up empty. Nothing in the Danbury or Franklin collections....Am I chasing snipes here? Wouldn't be the first time.....

    Hi Jeremy,
Have you thought of contacting Jim Prather, of VET VUES fame? He used to write a column about collectibles. Plus, there was someone else (I still see his trailer at Carlisle) who wrote a model article each month in VET VUES, his name has vanished from my memory bank. I'm sure Jim can tell his contact information.
Jim still has an ad in the DRIVELINE Services and Miscellaneous section each month.
    Regards,

      Jeremy,
The latest issue of "Vette Vues-Model Scene" was written by William J. Landis, Inc., 1841 Ashton Drive, Lebanon PA 17046 (717) 273-8977 SASE requested for a reply. I think he's their latest reviewer of models. Hope he can help you.

Ah, Chuck! That's the name! I've spent all night trying to recall it. Well, if not ALL night, at least a minute or two.
        Thanks.

Thanks guys....I've been scrambling around looking for any Vette Vues I had lying around.....I'm going to give him an e-mail. Somehow I think this is one of those "I thought I saw X when it was REALLY Y" situations, but then again, ya never know........Scratch that e-mail bit....looks like a phone call or snail-mail with a S.A.S.E. is the only way to get ahold of the dude!

Does anyone know why this 1959 has white coves instead of Inca Silver ?

I know that a lot of the diecast makers haven't gone thru the GM color chips when they paint their models....I've been having fun with 1:64 Greenlight Corvettes, and even though they're cool as heck, their coloring is hysterical....the baby blue '62 and the black (NOT Black Bandit) '70 coupe are great to laugh at. They did a good job on the '98 Pace car, though, which I would think is a toughie......

Try to find one of these. 1967 Goodwood Green and saddle interior with black stinger. Yes this model is not altered.
