Re: Performance Verification
Yes Greg, the "as manufactured" standard is simply another, briefer, way of stating the Flight Judging criteria. You have already completed the requirement for applying for a performance Verification test. Just register for a regional or National event and indicate you want your car to undergo Performance Verification.
You might want to get the PV manual for the year of your car and go through it a couple of times.Terry- Top

Re: Performance Verification
Greg, make that 'go through the PV Manual once a day for six months', talk to others who have done it in your year group. At the very least, you'll end up with a much better car!!!!

Dan speaks the truth, and an added benefit is you will both get to know how the car is supposed to operate, and have fun driving it besides!Bill Clupper #618- Top

Re: Performance Verification
In addition to reading the PV manual, I advise folks going this route to ACTIVELY do 'dry runs' with their cars...actually take them out for the PV drive and familiarize yourself with the car's operation.
Many have spent so much time/effort getting the car to 'look pretty' that when it comes to the 'does it actually work' test, they're all thumbs and nervous as all get out. This can be detrimental...
One local member was pumping so MUCH adrenaline that when the PV judge asked him to reset the clock, he actually PULLED the reset stem completely out of the clock, resulting in a fatal PV failure!
Knowing your car, its operating characteristics, and being comfortable behind the wheel with prior experience can be VERY helpful...- Top

Re: Performance Verification
i've never taken one of our c-1's or c-2's for PV without putting at least 500 miles on them. at least three dry run PV's on each vette by chapter members knowledgable in the vette in question. good luck with yer PV.mike- Top
