Wiper Blade Stop

Is there any coating (rubber) or covering on the wiper blade stop for a 1974 or were they just left painted metal? My one blade is showing raw metal where it's been parked / resting and vibrating against the stop. THANKS.

Hi Martin,
The stop on my 71 looks just like yours.
There's a strip of rubber glued to the stop that the bottom edge of the windshield sits against. But the wiper blade holder rests against the top of the metal stop... no cushioning. My stop just had black paint on it plus the glue on strip.

PS: You must have a nice 'lopey' idle if it's wearing the paint on the blade holder.

Looks like they been that way for 30 years or so. Actually I think the arms are ajusted to tightly against the stop is the reason, I wish it was a "lopey / cammed" engine! . About how thick is your stop pad? Can you post a picture? THANKS.

I have NO lope either!!!!
I'll take a look and give you some dimensions for the strip. I'm not sure if I have a picture or not. It'll be tomorrow.
