Was at a judging meet yesterday and while having dads 67 late car judged. the interior judge stated that on his black seat belts there should be white thread used instead of black. His is black. And at the event and not being judged there was another late 67 with black interior and had a bowtie award for the interior. The thread appeared to black and always have been black.

Re: 67 seat belt label color of the thread
Definitely should be black!! Sewn at the same time as the other sewing on the belting. If the belts are black the thread is black on the tags.
I posted a photo earlier today of an original black belt with black thread, on another seatbelt question. I'd post it here but this system won't allow reposting a photo.- Top

Re: 67 seat belt label color of the thread
I have a zillion pictures of 67 seat belt labels and the label thread is the same color as the belt web. Original carpet thread is always white, so maybe the judge confused that with seat belts. Hope you did not lose any points....

Re: 67 seat belt label color of the thread
Keith,
Agree with Steve, on black belts the label thread is black both sides, heavy thread, 8 stitches per inch. I have heard the story of the white bobbin thread but maybe on other colors, not black belts.
Here's a pic of my original 67 belts (with restored buckles):
