Did all 1966 PB Boosters come anodized from the factory or were some painted black?

Re: 1966 Power Brake Booster
George----
They were neither anodized nor painted black. They were zinc or cadmium plated with an irridite (chromate) overplate (which gave them the "gold" color). Anodizing is a process generally used only for aluminum substrate material, not steel.
I have never seen one of these 63-67 boosters that was painted. However, I could not rule out that any ever were. The 68+ boosters were DEFINITELY painted black but these are of a completely different configuration than the 63-67.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 1966 Power Brake Booster
Thanks.
I bought a 1966 PB master cylinder with 0711 booster attached. Unfortunately the guy had sandblasted the booster down to bare metal.George Dupont
