75 idler arm

I'm replacing the arm with a Moog k6100, the question I have is the mount holes on the arm, they seem to be tapered from a 3/8 to 1/2 is this normal, I sent the one I bought back and RockAuto sent another one,, same thing. I took the old arm off and the holes were 3/8 all the way through. thanks for any help.

The holes on the original arm bracket section were 13/32" "all the way through". I have no idea why Moog would use tapered holes. They ought to know how to make a part to original specs, at least with respect to a feature like this. What's more, I cannot see where tapered holes might make the part (or, at least the frame bracket component) applicable to a wider range of applications since I've never heard of an idler arm that used tapered fasteners to retain it to the frame.

Incidentally, the K6100 idler arm is uniquely applicable to 63-82 Corvettes although the frame bracket component might be used by Moog to make up other arms. I doubt it, though.

thanks Joe, just got off the phone with Moog, Rockauto and Gary Ramadei, Moog tech support told me that both holes are 3/8 and are not tapered, Gary had a arm and he says his are both the same size, now dealing with rockauto to get a refund and will try to get local. it's hard to see how this could happen, thanks for your help and insight.
