    3x2 linkage

Does anyone have a pix of the correct linkage hook up for a 69 3x2 carb setup? I have a new link kit from Paragon but the center carb clevis pin does not go into the front and rear rods? Drill out the holes in the rods?? Correct placement of nylon bushings? Thanks in advance. Lynn Schwebach

The center carb clevis pin should pass through the holes on the rods. If it doesn't, I would contact Paragon about that. It definitely should not be necessary to drill out the rods.

      Thanks Joe,
I also have a link kit from Smart Parts, same thing. Clevis pin will not fit into the rods. Sounds like a batch of these kits were produced out of spec. Lynn Schwebach

I feel pretty confident that the manufacturing source for these parts is all the same, regardless of who actually sells them. I just can't imagine enough of a market for these to justify more than one manufacturer. It looks like Paragon's catalog indicates that this is "their" reproduction. So, I think Paragon would be the one to contact about the problem. I'd say either the pin is not right or the rods are not right and which one it is needs to be determined and corrected.

Could someone please post a photo of the pin? I've forgotten the configuration of it. My recollection is that it's a pin with a short length of thread at the end.

Joe, others -- not sure I understand what the problem is, but here's linkage on a late '69. If these 2 pics don't show what is being discussed, I can take others, or dismantle the clevis area for more info/pics/measurements.

Yes, this is the area of concern as I understand it. The thing that I just don't recall is if the shouldered area of the pin is supposed to go through the rods or if the shouldered area just goes through the carb lever and the threaded portion is all that goes through the rods. If it's the latter, then there may actually be no problem with the reproduction pieces. It's been so long since I've had anything to do with a 3X2 set-up, I've forgotten. Actually, I may have TRIED to forget knowing how I feel about "tri-power"

              Joe,

That's just downright nasty of you to talk about tri-power that way!! Why, it's the best thing since sliced bread (or maybe it was before sliced bread....??)!!

Just remember -- the only thing worse than one Holley, is three Holleys.

And just so I don't offend everyone I won't tell you where fuel infestation ranks on that list.

I think the buildup is such that the large diameter of the bolt is taken up by the bushings and the slot piece on the carb. The rods are held on the threaded portion. I have a closeup picture somewhere and will post it.
