    ZR1's

My friend bought a ZR1 yesterday for 10K over MSRP, it seems the guys are not holding out for the big bucks like they were. RDR

    Re: ZR1's

    In today's market - I'm surprised the price wasn't 10k UNDER MSRP!

Auto dealerships are going out of business by the hundreds - close to 1,000 in 2008 - and someone actually paid over sticker?

    Fools and their money.

You would think so but the ebay guys are still hung up at $30-40K over.

I dunno about that. If I had the dough and wanted a ZR1, I do not think a 10k premium would too much to pay on a car that is already 110k. Hell, for all we know, Chevy may end production of this thing. If that happened, I think a 30k premium will end up looking cheap over the long run.

Our chapter was invited to the delivery of the first ZR-1 by a major Corvette Dealer in Kansas City about 3 weeks ago. At the end of the presentation it was announced that the original purchaser had cancelled! Might be a sign of the times also.

Patience is a virtue. Just as the 505 HP Z06's have come down to earth so will the ZR-1's. About 5 years from now there will be some great deals on some barely driven examples.

The first Production ZR-1 was auctioned off at BJ in January. A bidder/dealer paid $1M for the rights to number 1. I don't think he canceled. I wonder how many number 1's there are???

the dealer to get his promised ZR1 now must take 6 ZO-6s for stock.

I was told that one of the larger Corvette dealers got list PLUS $100k for his first ZR-1
