'69 Top Dash Curve, Bend, What's Up???

The top dash pad on my '69 has a slight curve upward on the left if you are looking straight on, right between the center bezel and the left dash housing. I never noticed it before until I just replaced my broken center bezel and the upper left corner of the bezel does not meet the upper dash and sticks out/down even with that off center top screw really tight.
The upper dash pad is original and looks like this "curve" or bend is formed into it.
I looked at some dash pictures on ebay and it seems like this is a normal occurance or should I say deformation malady, as I can spot the same thing on numurous '69 photos.
Is this how they are suppose to be? What causes this???
Has anyone else noticed this?
Shouldn't the center bezel fit flush up against the top dash pad.
It really bothers me.

I am not sure about 69 cars but all 71 corvettes that I have looked at in my life have that flaw in them. You will more than likely have to live with it. Some are worse than others , just the way our beloved corvettes were built back in the day.

Wow, I'm shocked!!!
How can we live with that??? There must be a solution?
It looks terrible.
What do the judges do? Deduct points if it matches? Or does it need to be out of wack like that?
Anyone out there have a fix?
I'm taking it all apart again tonight (for the 5th time) and looking at what I could do to pull the dash down closer.
