Thank you Todd.My early '58 (#708) has the holes just as Dan described on his '58, however mine was also a drag racer for a good portion of its life. Through four repaints, the soft top compartment had never been stripped, but I can't remember if it had red paint within the holes or not.- Top

In my case with my December build '57 the material was not like the"velour" type tank cover that protects the soft top window. it was round and made of a material similiar to a more porous felt or tar paper with, as I recall, a very, very thin smooth clear skim covering on the side facing up. I believe I still have them around here and will look for them.- Top
