    New to Technical Discussion

    Hello All !

I'm new to the NCRS and new to the Technical Discussion Board. Bought my second vette this past May - 1965 two top convertible, Silver Pearl/Silver Vinyl, 327/365 4-speed. One repaint, original interior. Will be joining the Queen City chapter soon - hoping to get some educated feedback as to how far I want to take this car. Looking forward to the journey .

Tried this at the test forum - hope it works here !

      Marty -

Thanks for the kind remarks and warm welcome.

As far as the mileage, TMU - non working odometer (stopped @ 60xxx)
The only non original parts that I've found on the car so far are a missing 2818 carb and the Hurst competition plus shifter. Had to pull the pass. door panel to replace a lock cylinder that came out with my key - panel is dated Mar 12 `65. Hence my interest in the NCRS. Like many old cars, I have some non working items (clock, radio, etc.) but I don't want to screw up the originality of the car right now. I'm trying to become more educated before I make any decisions, and for now - enjoying the ride!!

      Thanks -

      Dave

        David,
The first thing you should do is order the '65 Judging Manual & NCRS Judging Reference Manual (both available here). Then get with a local Chapter and all your questions will be answered. Welcome, Don H.

          David,

Welcome to the NCRS, your car looks very nice and taking the time to talk to NCRS people and learn before you even consider doing anything to your car is the best approach. Many people have made the mistake of taking there cars apart only to be furstrated and not enjoying the car for driving.

Beautiful car! I would also get the car judged before you do anything to it. You will learn a great deal about your car through the judging process, and be able to develop a better plan of action as you work on the car.

            Good luck!

Welcome aboard, David! Gorgeous car, and very unique with the beautifully distinctive silver, and silver. I think someone started a registry not too long ago, for silver on silver 1965 Corvettes You might research, if interested. Ridge..

Thanks to all who have posted! I really appreciate all the great suggestions, and most of all - the warm welcome!!

As much as I hate to see winter coming (Ohio, snow) it will give me a chance to do some research before I tear into something major and live to regret it!

Now if I can only finagle my wife's Jeep out of our two car garage, there just might be enough room for a lift........................................

                      Thanks again -

                      Dave
