Re: A329C embossed ?
Although I have no documentation, my opinion is that the embossed version was probably for applications prior to the seventies. With some certainty, I can say that 1974 Corvettes used a A329C with a silksreened message saying - BEST WAY TO PROTECT YOUR ENGINE REPLACE WITH AC TYPE A329C. It also had horizontal square wire mesh outer screen. Late in the 1974 Corvette production, the A329C was replaced with A348C. It is a similar design with greater filtering capacity. Also, at some point, the words... BEST WAY TO... were deleted.- Top

As far as I can tell, the A329C was first released for 1968 model year usage in some Chevrolet trucks. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: A329C embossed ?
I've not been out there, although he did come by here a few weeks ago (not with the car, though, as it still only has 183 miles on it). However, his car will not have an A329C. It's a 1970 Z-28 so it will have an A212CW. Still, I want to see what its filter actually looks like and one of these days I will.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: A329C embossed ?
Lyndon-----
The oldest air cleaner elements in my collection only go back about 30 years----after the embossment period ended. I never really acquired any air cleaners for retention prior to that time since the origins of my collection were based on obtaining parts I might need in the future after they were GM-discontinued. I didn't feel too compelled to obtain pieces like air filters since I figured they'd pretty much always be available during my lifetime.
I have seen embossed filters but I've usually only focused an AC A212CW models and can't say that I've seen other filter models with the embossment, although I'm sure they existed. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
