    1967 Rally Wheel Identification.

What identification should be on an original 1967 Rally Wheel?
Thanks in advance for your help.

    Best Wishes!

Bob - At the valve stem hole, B, DC, DG are found. Inside stamped on the rim you'll find 15X6JK plus a production date stamped 1-12 for the month and 66 or 67 for the year. There are some other stamp inside the rim that I don't know the significance of and two others on outside of the center, KH and GM.

As far as I'm concerned the 15X6JK which is the wheel size is important and then the production date which is typically a month or so before the car was build to be the best match for your car if you're trying to find the rally wheels that were most likely to have been installed during the period when the car was built. The valve stem hole code, B, DC or DG will be whatever it is for that wheel production period. The B code being found on September 1966 build cars and so far all of these wheels have shown a 8 66 (August 1966) production date.

Here are 2 pictures of my original 67 Rallye wheels. Sorry they were taken before I realized the importance of quality photos. Some time in the near future I will take better photos.

Rick - Nice photos. Because there were different broadcast codes, i.e. B, DC, DG, for the 67 Rally wheels, could you provide the wheel rim production date(s) for your wheels and car's build date (or at least the month and year). That information would help folks who are looking for the "correct" configuration rally wheels for their car(s). Thanks, Pete

          Peter,
Where would I find the wheel production date on the wheel? The car is a June 17th build date.

Rick - Unfortunately on original 67 wheels, the production date is stamped inside the rim usually near where the wheel size (15X6JK) is stamped, so the tire must be off the rim to see them. Pete

              Peter,
When I take the tires off the wheels, I will check the date. Just don't hold your breath.
