    67's With AC - PS Horn Ground - Check It For Me

    Everyone with a 67 with air conditioning could you please check your passenger side horn and tell me how it is grounded. Mine appears to be grounded by a large diameter yellow wire running from the horn top the top of the nose corner where it is mounted to a bolt. Does anyone else have the same thing? Thanks.

    Hello Kirk;

    Should be a black wire w/ star washer teeth on the inside of the round wire ends.

    Will try to get photo w/ actual ground location(s).

    Have you looked in the usual suspect locations, ei: Noland Adams etc. for pictures?

      Kirk, mine is grounded from the attaching bolt to the radiator support just below where the receiver dryer line enters the engine comp. BTW it's a black wire and attached with a recessed headed bolt and star washer. Very difficult to get a camera in there.

          Kirk, Mine is the same, looks from the outside diameter to be black 18 gauge. Dale

            Kirk -

            The grounding of the pass. side horn with A/C is shown in section C60, sheet B1; 6289421 ground wire, under the horn attaching bolt with a star washer at the bottom, and under 3848320 screw and 138485 washer at the top into a .152"/.156" drilled hole.

                Kirk, this is a couple years too late, but it may help for future archive searches.

                The Screw Asm. being referenced in this Thread (1967 AIM, C60-B1, Item 3, GM 3848320) is the same part number as the body mount access cover screws. Mine ('67) appear to have been cad or zinc plated, indented hex washer face with attached external tooth washer. The attached washer is copper. Pointed tip. Headmark is a dimple in the center with "RBW" evenly spaced around the perimeter. Measurements: 5/16" across-the-flats, #10-16 x 1/2".

                      Will try to find a picture. Believe Pete Lindahl has a '67 A/C Corvette.
                      Will email him.

                          Not able to find a relevant picture, as of now.
                          Will keep looking.

                            JOHN,
                            What about the drivers side horn on '66 A/C car? My condenser takes up the entire left front side of the radiator support so the only place the horn for that side mounts is on the fender skirt just as the pass side does. How is driver side horn grounding performed? (My first ever reply,post .etc)
