My first show ...Waco

Wow!!! what an event,never saw so many beautiful vettes. I am new at this,bought a 66 427/390 ac coupe about a year ago.It was sold as built to NCRS specs,in many ways it was but after going over it with my new Tech. Manuel Judging Guide I also found A lot of items were not correct. So I changed,fixed painted as many items as I could and off to Waco we went a journey of 1300 miles.By the time we reached Waco I couldnt tell you what month it was.Enjoyed the show very much thought I might be able to achieve 2nd. flight.However after the show was over I found our team leader and it was only then I found that my trim tag had a problem.A problem I asked? Well seems the tag was not factory original.Now very disappointed. I have two questions. 1. Why was I not told about this when it was first discovered,as it seems the Judging Guide explains. 2. Is there any way to make it correct for this car?

I'm glad youenjoyed the show at Waco. As to othe why you were not told about the trim tag at the time, I cannot answer that. I believe the team leader should have discussed that with you so that youdid not recieve a big surprise later. Is there a way to make it right? Unless you can find the correct original trim tag, probably not. I know that is not the kind of news you want to hear. If you would like to talk it over with someone, give me a call. You should have my phone number from the Waco paperwork. I'll also send it to you when I send your sheets out.

So did you get disqualified? Did you get some type of flight?

Wow, sorry to hear that David. Does your car have any other documentation that might substantiate the car's configuration in lieu of a trim tag?
