        Don't know if they made a 250 hp Air Box car, only the 283 hp Air Box and darn few of those with the dog dish hub caps and all.

          When Walter called me at 2:03PM today he said he had a passenger car. Anyhow that's what I thought he said. Phone rang none stop today.

          Qt: Do you think the passenger car hose and a typical hose for say a 58 to 62 FI air cleaner hose would be the same diameter??? I told Walt I thought so. But I am not sure. JD

              How do you know that, Roy? And, I've never understood that an FI equipped car used a different fresh air heater hose than a car not so equipped with FI. However, if this fellow is talking about a pass car, I might comment that he is on the wrong TDB. Best, Dennis

                Well I a summed he's on a Corvette forum and asking about the large AIR fresh hose to the Corvette heater.Do you know what he's asking about? My thought was just that, did I make a big mistake .? For over 35 years I had a 57 FI, P/W,P/T Corvette.
                I don't understand why you criticize what I think he was asking about?

                  Ken Kayser documents a 250 hp air box car in his book - cool stuff.

                    Loren;

                    Thanks. I'll look for it. His latest venture into the prototype F.I. unit in "Vette Vues" is also interesting. I'd like to talk to him about the 66+ prototype that never was some day (believe Doug Marion still has all the parts in his collection out in Cal.).

                    Roy;

                    Maybe you need to "soft ball" preface your remarks with a "I think this" or "I believe that", Ha! You know, we gots to be politically correct these days.

                      Sorry for the confusion. It is a 57 chev conv. 250HP It has a large hose 4 in diameter that goes from the air cleaner to the bottom of the radiator. I thought that the corvette version was the same.

                        i ahve an original 250 hp 210 post pass car FI and when i restored it, i used the 4" air duct hose used on the 55-62 c-1's to supply fresh air to the heater. neither AACA, VCCA not the classic chevy guys had an issue with the hose. mike
