Buying the right Antifreeze for my C1?

I own a 1961 car and just purchased a new Dewitt aluminum radiator system. I called DeWitts to get their recommendation on which antifreeze product to use and they recommend using XEREX G05. But this product is recommended for Dodge/Chrysler products. They were clear that either using distilled water or a pre-mixed antifreeze version was even more important then which fluid to use. Has anyone used this product or do you recommend a different product? Thanks,
    Jeff

Zerex G-05 and distilled water is what you want to use. I use it in two of my cars.

      Jeff:

It's ZEREX G-05, and is probably the best out there for our older cars. Used and specified by Mercedes, Ford, and Chrysler. It is a HOAT type....Hybrid Organic Acid Technology.

I have used G-05 in my 1967 car for the past 5-6 years with no issues. If you go to the Zerex website and read their technical info, you will find that G-05 protects all metals without corroding/affecting the solder used in our older cars cooling systems.

Having said this, the Prestone golden or yellow/green color antifreeze should also work well. Just stay away from DEX-COOL or DEX-COOL compatible types. And as Tom says, used a good quality distilled water to flush and mix. It's cheap insurance.

        Jim and Larry,

Thanks for responding and sharing your recommendation, next time I will spell the product correctly.
