Greetings, all. I am new to this board. Looking forward to your help and advice. I hail from West Palm Beach, FL. Been a longtime Corvette enthusiast. I currently own a 66 Laguna Blue Coupe, early VIN with Sept 65 build date. Nice very original road car, not a show car. The car is regular driver, showing just a tick under 70k miles. Highly optioned car with headrest dark blue interior, Fact A/C, P/S, P/B, P/W, Teak/Tele still with its original, yes, not just a matching numbers, but original motor. Currently running side exhaust (not factory), and a Muncie 4 speed. Car was a PG and I have the original tranny/shifter/console/pedals/etc. No damage done during the swap, I just wanted to shift it. Also has newer wheels, but I have all 5 original wheels and 4 beautiful hubcaps. I am proud of the car, and it is a blast to drive. But, the paint, some of which appears to be original, is showing its age with spider cracks. It shines like a new dime, but is far from show-worthy. Still have to "un-do" some previous sins, and hope you all don't think my transmission swap and wheels are such a sin. Fortunately the previous owner had the wits to save many of the parts (like the engine), and some of the people that worked on the car were sensitive to maintaining originality. Others weren't and those are some of the issues needing help, like a bazillion watt stereo that damaged some of the rear cargo area.
I also visit the CF and plan to purchase a 56-57 as my next adventure. Thanks for listening to my ramble, Joe Filer
