    C-3 gas tanks

Anyone here with a C3 75 or newer with the bladder in the tank. What is the life of a tank like that with the rubber in it with this new gas with a percentage of alcohol in it now. Will it eat the rubber up using this gas? I know GM did not design it to last forever, but we sure wish they could. Can you get new tanks with the bladders in them?

My '77 and '78 still have their original bladders in and they seem to be OK. I pulled my '77 tank in '97 and the bladder showed no signs of deterioration. I have not looked since then.

A reproduction of the 75-77 TANK is available. However, I don't know of any reproduction of the bladder at this time.

The 78-82 tanks have bladders that are integral with the tank and not a separate piece. It seems to me that I saw that someone is now making a reproduction of the 78-82 tank. However, I don't know if it has the integral bladder, or not.

By the way, the 84-96 fuel tank, GM #14048936, was also a tank with an integral bladder. This tank has now been discontinued. However, when it went out of the book, it carried a GM list price of almost $2,000. I was fortunate. I bought a NEW GM example on eBay several years ago for a spare for about $250.
