went to the barn a month ago to retreive the seat frames for the 57 i'm putting back together. seems the Mud Daubers picked one of the seat tracks to build their muddy nest in so disassembly of the tracks was needed. there are four caged .375" in diameter ball bearings per track. the other evening, after i'd disassembled the tracks, a caged pair were laying on the work bench(next to a can of the Beast). i accidentaly bumped a caged pair and it hit the floor . on impact, one of the caged ball bearings took off for the great unknown and if you've ever been in my shop, the great unknowns abound on the shop floor.not wanting to go to town for a replacement ball bearing, i started searching thru the spare parts and discovered a used c-1 front outer wheel bearing contains a multitude of the needed .735" ball bearings. back in buisness. mikie

Re: 57 seat adjust tracks
Hmmm, good to know that. Just sprung for a used set of complete seats needing restoration. Tracks seized, etc. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks mike.

Re: 57 seat adjust tracks
'Speaking of Mud Daubers, they are alllover the place here. I power wash the house 3-4 times per year but what really gets me is they get in the garage and in and on the Corvettes. Terminix every three months doesn't work. Any suggestions for keeping them away---especially from the cars?
Thanks!

Re: 57 seat adjust tracks
I dont think that would work. Those mud daubbers need water for their mud. You would just end up with stinking mud.- Top

Re: 57 seat adjust tracks
Tony, I think maybe that the "beast" has attacked Dr. Q again. I believe that you are right on the .375.
FYI that is a standard size ball and you can purchase it from places like Mc Master Carr, their part #9528K19Dick Whittington- Top

Re: 57 seat adjust tracks
You will have to devise a way to use it, however couple years ago wasps were building a nest in the top of a column used to support my flat porch roof at the front of the house. One night I placed some moth balls at the top of the column. It worked the wasps left. Then I tried it on the shutters, lifted out the shutters and placed some moth balls, the wasps left. This past summer, did not have any in the area. Don't know if it will work with mud daubers, they are not a problem for me.- Top
