I have noticed a couple of threads that show "Closed". What is the reason for such? Just curious?

Re: Curious about closed threads
Martin,
This a technical discussion board and is reserved to answer questions that members may have about their Corvettes.
Politics and slamming vendors is not allowed. Most gentlemen on this board understand!

Re: Curious about closed threads
JR, While I agree that slamming vendors is not necessarily the correct thing to do (two different people may have two different experiences with the same vendor) and politics are tough for many to discuss, it seems that when a company representative asks for support of a senate bill to help G.M. stay afloat and it is posted on the technical discussion board it is going to solicite a response. There has been nearly a thousand hits on that post and I am sure others would have liked to share their thoughts. The point of any discussion board is to have an exchange of ideas. G.M. is essential to the survival of our hobby and the employment of so many. So, brainstorming this bad situation may lead to an idea that actually helps our auto makers. Who would be more passionate about the final outcome than those dedicated to the auto hobby.
Regarding bad vendors: I know I appreciate advice on who to look out for. I am deep into the restoration of my car and have no desire to throw money away on bad service, poor material, misleading guidance (let's face it, there are a number of people marketing products as correct and/or NOS that are not even close). Do I want someone to rip a vendor apart? Of course not but a heads up from someone who has been there is well appreciated.- Top

Re: Curious about closed threads
I agree with the closing of the threads concerned. There's plenty of other websites that provide an opportunity to discuss topics unrelated to the restoration of old Corvettes.- Top
