Any suggestions on where to find this block with date codes from 11/62 to 4/63? I'm looking for a bare block so that I can build the engine myself. Engines Limited has one but it has everything but the heads and he wants $2,700. This is steep for me at this time.

Any other thoughts? My engine is a 1967 with 63 heads and intake so all I'm looking for is the block.

I picked up a std bore 870 block from Engines Limited with a January 1963 cast date in 2005 for much less than what Randy is quoting you today. They must be getting scarce.

You could try Tom at that "other" engine company in Wisconsin (in Hemmings). Have you checked out Driveline?

junkyards. look for a 62 chevy pass car but get an 870 cast in flint, not tonowanda. trucks may also serve as donor for your vette.2700 sounds excessive. mike
