Would this car have two washer reservoirs? The washer " bag " is under the other fender behind the brake booster.

Well, in my 70 I have a plastic bottle in that place (RH fender) with plastic cup and hose. Look at AIM UPC 1 Sheet D7. It uses a different bracket which is riveted to the inner fender. Bottle is attached with screws.

Don't think in two reservoirs, but the washer bag seems for later cars, 72 up If I remember well and on LH fender.

You have a mistery to solve about that bracket and the bag. Better we check the JG.

    Best regards

The bag in the driver's side fender is for Air Conditioned early C3s. The washer container in the passenger's fender is for non-AC cars. I have yet to see an original Corvette with both containers. Since the bag actually attaches to the car's body, and the passenger side container to the fender well -- perhaps one ought to look for which fiberglass parts of the car might have been replaced over the years with parts from another car.

        Re: Working on the '70

Dan my original owner July built 1970 with factory air conditioning came with only one washer bag.
It is located on the drivers side. The washer bag's mounting bracket is attached with rivets to firewall and just under the top of of the fender.

Originally from the factory there was nothing installed on the fenderwell of my 1970 Corvette on the passenger side like in your photo.

My 68 has a factory installed washer bottle installed on the fenderwell of the passenger side. It does not have factory air conditioning.

Many years ago I installed a coolant recovery container on my 1970 Corvette in the location of where your mystery bracket is located. With the screws showing for mounting and nothing in your bracket, I believe that a previous owner of your 70 also installed a coolant recovery system like I did.

I bought a later model C3 factory installed type coolant recovery tank to attempt to install on the passenger side and was not successful. Just continued the use of what I had earlier installed. I mounted my coolant recovery lower than your bracket. Mine rests/sits on the splash shield and is stabilized with attachment to the fenderwell.

Anyone having a 70-72 with factory air conditioning will find removing the passenger side grille (extremely easy 2 screws one nut) will have better access to remove the fan motor and service the vacuum operated heater water valve.

All original items, right down to the ribbed hoses and wittek clamps.....

Now for the question of the day. Is this hole, which is cut under the Pass. side hood hinge a factory cut? There is no reason for it. Thanks......

Isn't that where the lines to the air conditioning condenser pass through? Some of you guys with AC ought to know about this.

Next on the list, 40 year old springs, ball joints and bushings, as soon as I get that darn brake booster off.

Now for the question of the day. In the cowl area just behind the brake booster, there looks to be an access plate. couldn't get it off, screwed and riveted. Whats behind that plate? Thanks.

                    Re: Working on the '70

The hole near right hood hinge has been enlarged, my 70 measures 2 3/4" x 1 1/2" oval shap. This is where two a/c lines travel thru, large line goes to top condenser, small line to sight glass adjacent to condenser. I looked at a 72 and has same cutout as 70, but a nicer, cleaner cut.

Just read in the JM, yellow tag is a service replacement, it should be green. Is #3931824 the correct front spring for a '70 conv,350/350 w/ac? JM doesn't really say what is correct. This might also explain why there is a 7 leaf in the rear.

GM #3931824 is the correct spring part number for your application.
