    weatherstrip oem look

is there a product to simulate the weatherstrip glue amber look that is smeared around doors and hood area weatherstripping, black and yellow seem to be the only choice. or does someone have a clever method to achieve that aged look?

Go to your local Lowe's and get a small can of contact cement. Go to a local auto parts and get an acid brush. Brush the contact cement on the body and the w/s. Allow to tack and them put together. Looks very original

The 3M is a brighter yellow color that the original. That is the reason I like the contact cement, the color is very close to the original

          Actually that is backwards.
It started out nearly clear, and yellowed with age.
No matter what, the bright yellow stuff available from 3M is not the correct shade for our vintage Corvettes.
