    Blk Spring Clamp on PCV-LS4

    On a '73 LS4 engine....

    The black spring clamp that holds the PCV valve to the T in the hose...

    The edges on the clamp....are they "rounded" or "squared"? Squared being the ones that tear skin off when working with them!

    I have both, but just wanted to know which clamp was correct as the NCRS JG does not go into this aspect that much and I know that there has been some disscussion on these tips.

    Thanks in advance.

    the short answer is squared...consistent with spring clamp types found elsewhere on your 73 LS4 per TIMJG.

    We had a couple of rather lengthy threads on this topic (spring clamps) back in the summer I believe...check archives. I believe both types were being used interchangeably depending on color type by late model C3 years...like after 75-76 perhaps even later like 78. Your safer to stick with straight edge type and use needle nose players to save skin.

      Tom;

      You might say back in those days, GM was after a pound of your flesh.
      By the way Tom, What are you doing up so early? With me, I'm baby sitting a sick dog (no fun).

        Any chance of an update on the dog?

          Alan;

          Thanks for asking. He kept me up from 2 am until about 6 am. This is something that has been going on and off for this past week or so. Considered taking him into Emergency Vets, and about then he seems much better. Have an appointment for tests tomorrow with our regular Vet. Wife is out of town until next Tuesday, so I better get him better before then or it will be all my fault, Ha!

          Had him in to our Vet late Friday (last Appointment), then in the middle of his exam, in walks a blind couple with a sick guide dog! Can you believe that? Guess who got priority?

            Hi Stu,
            Thanks!
            Have you seen the bumper sticker that says... BARK LESS, WAG MORE!...?
            I like most dogs I meet.

              Thanks guys..

              I thought that I remembered that the squared ones were early 70's cars and the rounded were later with the late 70's cars.
