Re: c1 headlight switch connections
Well, the first problem is finding the print. What is the part number of the wiring harness in your AIM? I don't Have a '58 AIM, bit I think the harness is the same as a '60 in which case the correct connector to the headlamp switch is indeed a seven slot configuration. Starting at the opposite end o the single the connector has a short side and a long side the short side (again starting at the end with the slots side by side, th 44 lead is 18ga grey, then a space to the 40C circuit, Orange, then the las on that row is the 9 circuit, 20 ga black. The longer row, again starting at the paired end, has the 20D circuit, 20Ga white, 10 circuit, 14 ga light blue, next is the 13B circuit, 20 gauge violet, and on the end is the 2C 14 ga red power feed. The print I am referencing is GM part number 2669919 dated 4-27-57. The 7 way connector was used all the way thru the 1962 model. Part number for the connector is 2973871. I'll try to attach a simplified drawing of the correct connector to this post.Attached FilesBill Clupper #618- Top

Re: c1 headlight switch connections
Thank you. That is my connector but I have re checked the two books again and neither addresses a 40c or 9 or 20d etc circuit. I believe the single post is the main power input and the other end with the two side by side are a courtesy light ground and the courtesy/dash light post. I would like to know which lights connect to the other posts.- Top

Re: c1 headlight switch connections
If you use the gauge sizes and colors to plug them into the specified holes, you should be ok. Barring that, there is a complete electrical schematic in the assembly manual.Bill Clupper #618- Top
