Read in the Fort Worth newspaper last week that GM plant in Arlington,TX worked overtime in NOV and after the Thanksgiving break would continue using overtime in DEC to build vehicles in the Arlington plant. Arlington builds Tahoes and other SUV's.

Ken is a great guy and lives in Michigan. Always has, and worked for GM Drivetrain since 1968. Started with GM at Tonawanda engine plant in 68 building big block Chevrolet engines. That's another story.

I have his phone if you need it.

While a lot of people are clamoring for high mileage vehicles, there are others who wish or need to drive a SUV or truck. The cost of fuel does not and will not drive the latter folks to change their vehicle of choice. The challenge for any automobile manufacturer is to meet the requirements of ALL purchasers.

                GENTLEMEN-

I seen a couple of weeks ago that GM is letting the Tiger Woods sponsership go. I wonder what'll happen to people like Warren and Kurt Johnson with their "GM Performance Parts" and "A.C. Delco" sponserships? From my understanding W.J. was heavily involved with the GM's LSX program from the beginning. His DRCE development is well documented and I'm sure a money maker for GM (on the patrs side). Hate to see the PROFESSOR of PROSTOCK let go.

'And the Corvette team---I hope the switch from GT1 to GT2 happens instead of just going away. Honda just droppped out of F1 and Audi out of ALMS. Who is next?

Great post by Jim, the problem starts at the top, these CEOs with their arrogance are just motivated by the short term bottom line. They just want to make as much as fast as possible and to hell with the long term consequences of selling out jobs overseas and the long term health of the company.
