# of Awards

The NCRS web posting under the awards description provides the following information on the number of awards given out as of the 2007 season:
Duntov Mark of Exe: 770
McLellan: 75
Founderrs: 221
Bowtie: 190
Crossed Flag: 8
American Heritage: 20
Performance Verification: 1074

Now the question is....how many Top Flights have been awarded to date? Thanks in advance for any insights ...

Would you be looking for Chapter, Regional or National top flights or the total of all three?

Bob, well if someone obtained multiple awards at at the various Chapter, Regional or National levels, then the total may be double counting the same car getting an award. What I really am after are the number of cars that obtained a Top flight (Ist, IInd and IIIrd), perhaps indepentent of where (Chapter, Regional or National) it was obtained. *Tony

Any Corvette that receives the Duntov or McLellan Award has earned two Top Flight awards since two 97% scores are required for those awards.

You will also have cars judged at Chapter or Regional that have not been judged at national. This could get complicated getting a number of total top 2nd and third flights. As Terry said a Duntov or McClellan has at least 2 top flights. Then you may have the same car getting a second and a top flight. Not sure how much work that would be, but Roy would be the keeper of the records.

I would have to look at ALL my judging records to give you a complete picture, but my 1970 has been flight judged probably as a guess around 10 times. I remember the first judging, at a Chapter, resulted in a second flight, I ultimately got a top flight at a chapter and then got at least two regional top flights before the national top flight for the Duntov. I only remember those results because it started at my chapter and got a second flight, and it took two regionals before I got a 97%.

I think what you are asking for will be real complex to extract, but the only place anything like those results will come from is the National Judging Chairman.

I have tried to track down Roy...but he is just way to busy to respond. T
