ZR1 #501 Just under the wire!!!

Just reading all the doom and gloom about GM, I am picking up number 501 this Friday at 7:45 am. Might be one of the last ones before Feb. Mario Andretti picked up number 500 last Thursday! He won Daytona 500 and Indy 500! I think 501 is better than 500!

My buddy got #61 Red my other buddy got blue like mine, i do think the grey looks good. The blue under the hood and the logo is blue.

Ronnie...actually saw your car on the line last Thursday when I was at the plant watching my car be built...also # 508 was three cars ahead of mine and was being walked along by the owner & his fiancee...we chatted over both days as our cars were built...he was a former astronaut, Bruce Melnick, and was quite interesting to talk to...his was black...Mario stopped and chatted with my wife and I for about 10 minutes during his tour of the plant too..

It sure sounds like they are not building the ZR1s in consecutive serial number order. Anyone want to place a wager on how long it will be before some NCRS types scratch their head about that?

Actualy they are in sequence, not sure how they get out of line?? May be the option package?

I got a PM from Vinnie, and I now understand the ZR1s are in numerical sequence. I misunderstood and didn't realize yours was built and in the quality hold status. I thought it was still being built.

Dave Ressler bought "the first retailable unit built of the ZR-1". The quote comes from the Speed TV commentators during the auction. You can watch the video of Ressler buying the car at his website http://collectorcorvettes.com. About a third of the way through the video, Jay Leno says that the winner doesn't actually get the car on the block, but will get the "very first customer delivered car", so apparently Jay was able to slip in ahead of that one. One of the perks of fame, I guess.

We saw the Dave Ressler car on the trim line being built this summer as we stop by the plant while on NCRS Road Tour. That car is suppose to #1 but I don't know. I do know that it is the only Lemans Blue that is to be built. You would think by paying million dollars that it would be the one and only plus serial number 1.

They can, and maybe did play games with the serial numbers. It could be Dave Ressler has the only 2008 ZR1. I doubt they would make two saleable cars with the same serial number. That could lead to all kinds of issues.
