Buy American comment is right on!!! We need to start looking out for each other in spite of the fact that our goverment will not. Americans can do it and change this mess, we have the power.

Roy's comment on HOUSE CLEANING in goverment is something all of us need to wake up too. No change coming in Washington, wait two years when they all start fighting with each other because of there own agenda.

I continue to be baffled by the mess our country is in. In my opinion I think we need to continue to be a melding pot. However, all those who come to our nation to call it their own should have to go through the immigration process (as did my father and mother). There is no free ride and no one should feel entitled. By the same token, there should be a more even distribution of wealth. Management and labor should work in cooperation in any job. What you are paid should be a reflection of your efforts and in the words of Dennis Miller " some of these execs should get golden parachutes, real golden parachutes at 10,000 feet."
In most sciences you revert to the simplest basic premise to help answer the most complex questions. In this case perhaps: Responsibility for your actions, learn to play(work) together toward a common goal, don't live beyond your means, be willing to help others, be passionate about what you do. We cannot live on the resources of other people or other countries and maintain financial and political strength here at home and we cannot allow the disappearance of the middle class and see the country fall into the haves and have nits. With this said, we also need to be willing to allow for the reward of those who take a risk and benefit themselves and those around them.

I said that my original statement was my last word but as my wife would say. I cant shut up. My point is that we will have no middle class & the younger people have no clue how to manage money. The lenders tell them how much to borrow on a house,lease a car because you can get one that's more than they can afford & run up credit card debt with 23% interest, they gave it to me, not my fault I can't pay now. This & the government from cradle to grave safety rules ETC. Nothing is there fault. If you smoke or drink not your fault. Cut your self with a chain saw it's the manufacturer's fault. That's why I said what I did. We will have rich people & poor people just like the rest of the world. Nothing to do with unions. We will not have middle class without a strong manufacturing economy.

Congratulations, I'm happy for you guys who went back to work.
I would be happy to do the same.
I 'm in the seventh year of a job search, finding companies don't hire people over 40, now I'm thinking it's more like 30.
