    1965 Type 2 Jack

    All,

Could anyone send me a couple of detailed pictures of a 1965 Type 2 jack and handle. Better yet does anyone have one for sale?

    Thank You

See page 105 of Noland Adams' Vol 2 restoration guide book for a comparison picture of jacks.

Personally, I'm not sure why you want a Type 2 jack. It had SUCH a SHORT life in production that with the random pull from inventory factor, just about any Corvette built when the Type 2 jack was actively used, a given car might have also had either a Type 1 jack (early with respect to the running change) or a Type 3 jack (late with respect to the change).

On original vs. reproduction...the reproductions are pretty darn good and relatively inexpensive. Anything less than a NOS original jack is going to put you on the horns of a dilema (trade off originality points for condition points) unless you want to sink extensive labor into the restoration of the used original jack you find!

Methinks, I'd be disposed to buy the reproduction part and live with the minor deduction(s) on originality and devote time/resources you save to other aspects of the restoration where reproduction parts aren't so good...

      Re: 1965 Type 2 Jack

My car was built on Feb 25th. Just trying to spend my money once. Do you think the type 1 would pass judging based on my build date. There are a million of these out there, but very few type 2's.

      Thanks for the information.

        Fellas,

Somebody wants the Type II Jack badly as $595.00 was the winning bid just this week on E-Babe! WOW!
