engine casting date

What is the closest casting date anyone has seen, for an original car, in relation to the body build date? Is a week or less to close?

Hi Jeremy,
Here's the info from my 71, 350/270, 4-speed.
The block was cast on December 31st, twilight shift.
The engine was assembled on January 7th.
The trim tag indicates assembly January 14th.
I guess this is pretty typical, so it might help you determine what a really quick 'cast/ assembly period' may be.

PS: The vast majority of parts with dates are right where I'd think they would be for this 'common' drive train... except for the intake manifold and one exhaust manifold which have August dates.

Here is the info on my 67 L-79

Engine casting date of 5-31-67 with stamp pad date of 6-5-67.

Body build date of 6-16-67.

Estimated car birthday of 6-19-67/

1966 Corvette, casting date is 1-10-66, assembley date of 1-13-66, body build 1-14-66 and a birthday of 1-17-66.

Here is the info on my 67. I've seen closer and some a lot farther and dates more scattered dates.

Body build Dec. 6, 1966
Block cast Nov. 30, 1966
Heads cast Nov29, 1966
Engine assembly Dec.1, 1966
Car assembly Dec. 7, 1966
Car shipped by rail Dec. 9, 1966
Car arrived at dealer Dec. 12, 1966
1st owner took possession Dec. 14, 1966
