    '67 BB hood reinforcement 'baffle'

What is the purpose of the fiberglas reinforcement 'baffle' that mounts in the hood scoop opening on a '67 BB hood?

    Larry -

It's to close the hole in the "stinger" depression - it couldn't be molded in one piece due to the direction of mold pull being perpendicular to the normal surface of the hood.

Thanks, John. Is installation pretty straight-forward? I don't even see a picture of this part in the AIM. What happens if this part is left off? Water comes in?

        Larry -

You don't see it in the A.I.M. because it arrived at the plant as part of the finished hood assembly from the molding source.

There was a program at one point (requested by Styling and Sales) to open the front of the stinger on the '67 BB hood, but it was cancelled due to water ingestion test failures at the Proving Grounds.
