    C-3 Alarm Wiring Question

    Merry Christmas to all!

I am in process of reinstalling the wiring in my 69 coupe. My car originally had the UA-6 alarm option. I purchased a new alarm harness, and have a question on the installation. The harness has 3 white wires. One goes to the alarm switch under the hood, and the other 2 go to the door switches. My original harness has 1 white wire going to the passenger switch, and a white and black wire to the driver switch. I am assuming that the alarm harness wires are added to the door switches, making 2 wires to the passenger switch, and 2 whites and 1 black to the driver switch. Does anyone know if this is correct? The wiring diagrahm seems to indicate 2 wires to the passenger door, and 2 wires to the driver door switch. The original harness has 1 wire to passenger switch, and 2 wires to driver switch. I'm confused as to what to do with the wires in the new harness. HELP!!! Thanks, Mark

In later years their are switchs at the rear of the door that control the alarm. Your 69 may not be this way I don't know.

don't know if this helps. from a 70. Think 2 wires to each switch.

        Re: C-3 Alarm Wiring Question

In 69, the alarm definitely connects to the courtesy light switch in the front of the door.

The switch in the rear of the door is for the "DOOR AJAR" light on the console only.

I have the alarm in my 69, and I remember having only 1 "extra" white wire going to each courtesy light switch. I do not remember 2 wires to either switch. Could the black wire be a ground for the hood switch? The ground for the courtesy lights is provided by the fact that they're screwed into the metal birdcage. I think that the hood switch is in fiberglass only.

Don't have my 69 AIM with the wiring diagram here, so can't help, but it looks like the 70 diagram shows only 1 "extra" wire to each door switch.
