Very interesting thread....

The carrier lid I have for my 203xx 63 is configured like Robs with the tapered ends. It's one I purchased a few years back, so I can't vouch for it's originality.

Here is a picture of the early style lid/support for my 63 next to the later style support. The undercoating has to be removed so it looks bad but it's actually in nice condition. I have not decided if I am going to remove the rivets and detach the support.

What's the best way to remove this undercoating, it looks like it's been there for awhile..

Hi Tim Start with a pro heat gun (not a hair dryer) and scaper to start the process of removing that undercoating. Phil 8063

Come on, Tim. You've got to get in touch with your "feminine" side.

Those heat guns get REAL hot. Ask me sometime how I nearly melted my convertible top trying to get wrinkles out of it.

I don't mind going in looking at the good looking woman but you can only look at a flower so many ways..Good gosh!! My wife has to hold it up, put it with some other flowers, rearrange again then put it back and get some more and start over.. Can only take so much of that..

It's great to be a man, things are just easier.
