I know for 71 the R89W was standard on BB cars and was a option for the heavy duty battery, so you could go with the R89W

      ED,
You have the same situation with the battery as you had with the tires. T60 was an option in 72 and was ordered on 2,969 cars. You do not need to prove that your car was one of the 2,969. Go with the reproduction battery that judges best.

Me thinks that Ed needs to buy the Judging Guide,

        the Judging Reference Manual,

and download a copy of the Judging Sheets.

They are a wealth of information and are necessary if anyone is thinking about having their car judged, or preparing it for judging.
